People like doing things they’re good at. Generally, what people like doing is what they do the most; hence they get better at it and keep sticking with it because they enjoy it. They don’t like what they’re not good at which is mostly which will be the activities they do least. “I don’t like running!” Rarely came out of the mouth of someone who is an avid runner that effortlessly pounds out the kilometres. This typical characteristic is great for forging strengths, but not so great in that it creates many areas of weaknesses. So, change your program to prioritise your weaknesses while continuing to maximise your strengths. If you are not so great in any of the following areas try to focus on it until it comes up to par. Your overall ability as an all-round athlete will suffer if one or more areas are neglected:
- Flexability
- Strength
- Aerobic Endurance
- Muscular Endurance
- Anaerobic Threshold (high intensity capacity)
